▶ Your Answer :
In this article, the author argues that If
the company sell alpaca overcoat again, they will reap many benefit. Although,
the argument may seem convincing at first, the lack of evidence leads me to
question the validity of the argument.
First of all, the author needs to provide
solid evidence whether customers are still interested to wear the alpaca coat.
Even if they continue production of alpaca coat, they cannot get high benefit because
the customers are less likely to want to wear the alpaca overcoat unlike five
years ago. Also, it is plausible that more warm and cheap overcoats that alpaca
overcoat were sold by myriad company. Thus, they have to check the trend of the
customers
On
top of that, the author needs to supplement the argument with more concrete
information whether the reason why the competitor stopped to product alpaca
overcoats is low supplies of high quality of wool fabric or not. It Is possible
that the competitor discontinued production of alpaca overcoat since the
customers do not prefer to wear the alpaca overcoat any more. For this reason,
it must be noted that why the competitors stopped to make alpaca overcoat.
Last but not least, more significant evidence
is needed on the soundness of the conclusion that the customers should be willing
to pay significantly higher prices for alpaca overcoats that than they did. Increasing
of the price of clothes does not means that the customers have to pay high
money to buy clothes. Ironically, it is more likely that the customers have a
tendency to buy much lower price cloths than five years ago due to burden of
the cost. Consequently, they must consider the customer's trend of using money.
In conclusion, the author's claim is not persuasive in many
respects. In order to strengthen the argument, the author needs to rule out the
aforementioned unsubstantiated evidences and give more verified information.
