On the one hand, some people say that they are able to learn how to deal with challenges and obstacles while playing games. When playing them, there are always various kinds of quests in them, and people have to think carefully to go on to the next stage. This process not only makes people consider, but they also can improve their flexibility. People can use these lessons for other areas such as in work or at school. For example, students may have more interest in their academic performance getting a good mark for reaching a higher level in school, like playing games. Some students actually have experienced this in schools.
Nevertheless, playing video games harm people more. One of the drawbacks is that people tend to addict those games. Once you get addicted, you cannot quit and have a hard time adapting to reality. Sometimes excessive addiction of playing games leads to catastrophic crimes, like murder. This is because some people lose their minds to determine whether here is the real world or not. There is a recent study shows that most game addicts do not function well in their everyday life. In their minds, they cannot think about the reality without thinking playing games. More seriously, there is few facilities that can accommodate addicts to cure them well in a good condition.
To sum up, while there are some advantages to playing games as a individual hobby if someone can control himself or herself appropriately, it is evident that enjoying video games too much is definitely detrimental to one's life. |
