AGENT (British): Hello,
thank you for calling England to France Culinary Tours. How can I help you?
CUSTOMER(British): Hi.
I’m interested in booking one of your culinary tours in Toulouse.
AGENT: Of course, I’d be
happy to help you. Can I have your
name please?
CUSTOMER: Kate Smith.
S-M-I-T-H.
AGENT: Great, thank you
Ms. Smith. Now, when would you like to go?
CUSTOMER: I have to go in
July, but I can go during any week that month. Do you have any openings during
that time?
AGENT: Let me see . . . We
have one spot open on a tour during the first week of July. We also have
several spots open for a tour during the third week of July. Are you travelling
alone?
CUSTOMER: Yes, I am. Uh . . .
I think the first week of July would work best for me.
AGENT: No problem at all.
Would you like to room by yourself or with another guest on the tour?
CUSTOMER: Is there a price difference?
AGENT: All of the rooms
are double occupancy. So, if you want your own room, it’d be an additional £75
per night.
CUSTOMER: I see . . . That’s
no problem. Yes, I’d like my own room. What is the overall cost? I looked at
your website and it listed £2110.
AGENT: Yes, that’s right. That price includes all of
your cooking supplies, room and board for one week. We also include
transportation to and from the airport in Toulouse.
CUSTOMER: Will there be any
daily excursions or anything like that?
AGENT: Absolutely. We
offer three excursions during the week. They are all optional. We take a trip
to some ruins about one hour from the hotel. We also take a trip to the coast.
That’s actually a two-day trip. We also take a short trip to do a tour around
Toulouse. But you’ll have plenty of free time to yourself, if that’s what you
prefer.
CUSTOMER: Sounds delightful.
Do I need to organise my own flight arrangements?
AGENT: That’s completely
up to you. I can take care
of that for you if you’d like, or you may call the
airlines yourself. If you’d like to do it yourself, you must arrive on Monday,
July 2nd. The last day of the tour is Sunday, July 8th.
CUSTOMER: I think I’d prefer
to book my own flights. I may stay a bit longer after the tour ends and do a
little travelling on my own. I want to visit Spain and Portugal.
AGENT: That’s quite
common. If you have any questions, I’d be happy to recommend some hotels in
both of those countries.
CUSTOMER: I’ll let you know.
Oh, do I need to rent a car while I’m there?
AGENT: No, we have a few
vans that we use for the day trips. Of course, you can also use our bicycles
for getting around town for free of charge.
CUSTOMER: That’s good to
know. Well, go ahead and sign me up then. I’m ready to do it.
AGENT: Wonderful. To hold
a spot, I’ll need a deposit of 25% of the total cost. Normally, I’d take your
credit card information over the phone, but our machine is down right now. You
can either call back or just go to our website and enter your information
there. Do you want that address?
CUSTOMER: No, I’ve got the
webpage opened right now. But how do I make sure I’m entering my credit card
information for my particular reservation?
AGENT: I have a
registration number for you. All you do is enter your
registration number and it’ll pull up your reservation. Then, just go ahead and
enter your information. Ready for the number?
CUSTOMER: Yes, go ahead.
AGENT: 8-9-0-0-0-C-L-2
CUSTOMER: Wonderful. I’ll
make sure to do that today.
AGENT: OK. Go ahead and
wait at least 10 minutes for the reservation to be uploaded into our system.
The total fee must be paid by April 3rd.
CUSTOMER: I’m going to pay
for it all at once.
AGENT: Sounds great.
Please be sure to call me back or email your flight information so we know what
time you’ll be arriving. I’ll also send out a welcome email in a few weeks
which details the entire tour.
CUSTOMER: Perfect.
AGENT: Don’t hesitate to
call if you have any questions.
CUSTOMER: OK. Thanks again.
AGENT:
It
was my pleasure. Good bye.
