Do people in your country like visiting historical buildings?
Comparatively, I would like to say "no". People in modern society already have many things to enjoy. For example, it is hard to find some people who to intentionally visit historical buildings to learn any kinds of information which is related to the past, rather than visiting the cinema halls which screen many up-to-date movies and provide many people with enjoyable moments.
Why do people visit historical buildings?
I think the main rationale is concerned with the educational purpose. For example, many schools are usually likely to visit historical structures to lead students to more vivid experiences that are not restricted to text books. Like a Korean adage "hundred hearings are not worth one seeing", going through contact in the flesh could give rise to unforgettable memory for students so that educational efficiency could be culminated.
Do most people agree the government should fund the protection of historical buildings?
Yes I think so. The majority of people would give consent to the notion that maintaining historical assets is already included in governments' obligation. We, citizens, leave these accountability to governments and, as support, sound local residents contribute financial assist to redeeming the required costs to preserve them through paying taxes. Therefore, governments should show their sense of responsibilities about our devotion and neglecting this is completely out of their onus.
