Children’s development is one of the most important matters for parents. Therefore, there have been arguments about whether parents and experiences in family have more significant impact on children’s development or external factors affect more strongly on them. I personally think that family life and parents are more critical in children’s growth. Needless to say, it is definitely true that influences outside also play a great role in children’s development. This can be supported by the fact that most parents are concerned about their children’s relationships with others especially friends. However, there is no need to worry about it if children’s morality, characteristic and so on are already well organized in family. Actually, according to a research, people who cannot easily settle in schools or work places could not live in a stable family when they were in childhood. This indicates how important and powerful family life and parents are in children’s development. The reason why factors in family can have a greater influence on children’s growth is that children have attachment relationships with their family members, especially parents. Therefore, they have a tendency to rely on their parents and even blindly believe in parents. In addition, because outside factors also can have an influence on children, it is crucial for parents to monitor if their children learn something bad from outside or not. In conclusion, it is felt that parents should make an effort to lead their children to right way for growing in stable family conditions and concerned about outside elements which can negatively affect on children’s successful development. |
