people's purpose for visiting art museums between 1990 and 2000.
According to the first chart, in 1990, the
popular reason that people visited to museums was to learn and gain knowledge,
which takes up almost half of the answers (44%) among the reasons. While people
who went to museum to buy art accounted for only 1 percent. Interestingly, it
is notable that people visited art museums because they want to fill their
travel schedules, taking up 27 percent among several reasons. In addition, the
other reasons were followed: to attend a special exbit, to spend time with
freinds and family.
Turn to the second chart, in 2000, it is
noticeable that the top reason of visiting museums was same to the answer in
1990, to learn and gain knowledge, taking up 45 percent. However, the second
reason to visit was changed to attend a special exhibit (18%) from filling their
travel schedules (12%). The increase of spending time with friends and family
and buying art in art museums had noticeably risen to 17 percent and 5 percent in
2000, respectively.
Overall, it is apparent that people had
shown a slight change on their interesting to visit art museaums from 1990 to
2000.
