People usually have divided views on whether learning from copying
other’s work or study is connected with plagiarism. Some think that people can
improve their skills from other’s thoughts while other feel that it is just
imitation. Although arguments on both sides are worth exploring, I believe that
the former is more beneficial than the latter.
On the one hand, those who think that people can learn the way of
work or study following other’s works that they did in the past have valid
reasons. Therefore, people can improve their results and talents learning how
to apply from a thing of the past. For example, when people design products,
designers are usually inspired from previous items, and develop their ideas
more refreshingly not creating new one because this can makes designers develop
ideas more differently. In this regard, copying other’s thoughts or works can
give another way of thinking to make novel things.
On the other hand, there are some people who think it can generate
some problems to occur plagiarism. It can harms for previous makers to protect
inventions. However, these days there are many copyright laws enacted. Thereby,
previous makers’ inventions can be protected by the laws, it helps not to
imitate easily.
In conclusion, these two ideas about learning from copying leads
to not only creative ideas but also plagiarism are both interesting, but since
there are many people copying is just imitating and cause detrimental situation
for original makers, I believe that it seems more likely that learning from
other’s works makes many creations.
