Various opinions may exist towards important subjects in school. Some people argue that history is the most significant because learning history gives students valuable lessons from mistakes and errors that our ancestors had made. Also, student become proud of achievements which our forefathers had accomplished. However, others insist that science and technology are the most importnat subjects. This is mainly because it helps future generations to keep up with changes along the technological advancements. Ideas stated below support these opinions, respectively.
First of all, lerning history can usher people into the right direction by teaching them precious life lessons and values. This is because pupils are able to figure out mistakes from the ancestors so that they can avoid the same errors. The most salient example is the economic downturn in the United States in 1930s. With in-depth study and evlauation about how people handled the crisis, it is much easier for people to avoid the economic depression in 2008. In addition, lerning history helps children become proud of themselves as descendants because the ancestors had accomplished a variety of achivements.
In addition, exploring science and technology is considered important because the development of science and technology can expand human capabilities in unimaginable ways. For instance, people never imagined that robotic surgery become possible even a decade ago. However, it is quite common to do robot-controlled surgery and this leads to preform more precise procedures than in the past. That is the reason why some people argue students should absorb knowlege of science and technology to keep up with the pace of development.
All in all, I believe that history, science and technology are all pivotal in teenagers’ development and amplification of their insights. Schools should prioritize history as well as science and technologh equally so that they get precious lessons from the past and move forward to the future.
