Competition without purpose only confuses because it is an obsession that is empty and rewardless. In this regard, it is often argued that competitiveness is a recommended quality to have. However, some people think that it is actually unhealthy for individuals. I also agree with them and will discuss the reasons in this essay.
Actually, competition helped people in many developing countries for last decades. They grew really fast and eventually made a success. However, the problem is that most of them are now in their fifties and competition became a habitual thing. This is because they believed that competitiveness is diligence and still think that they should eat faster, work faster and grow faster to win again.
Also, the most serious problem in a competitive environment is that there cannot be a real leader. A competitive mindset often induces individuals to think that a winner or a leader takes all and everyone else is a loser or a follower, and they feel like they have to take quick action not to be the one. However, when there are multiple leaders in multiple teams, people can perform better without losing trust in people.
In conclusion, competitiveness is a skill and can be unnecessary to survive in this modern world. This is because it takes away leadership in the society and lack of leadership takes away trust amongst the members of the society. |
