It is true that online shopping has made
shopping more easily since it is accessible and almost everything that
consumers click and pay is delivered to their place. However, I believe it
has brought drawbacks as well in terms of making people lose patience and
carefulness. To begin with, Consumers who are waiting for
their items cannot bear with their waiting time. As online shopping has
developed and has been popular, there is fierce competition between
shipping companies. They promote that they guarantee fast shipping to captivate
customers. Due to this marketing, customers get used to the short period
of shipping time. This gets to the point where they are not patient when they
cannot receive their items within the expected period. Furthermore, it becomes easy to
access online shopping these days. In addition, online shopping eliminates
a lot of process for going shopping. Customers no longer have to go out to buy
items that they need, compare prices at the market and bring it to their homes.
The pandemic accelerated people to change shopping habits. During the lockdown,
people were not allowed to go out and shopping, they ended up utilizing online
shopping. However, people also easily encounter items they did not think of to buy
on the Internet. It leads to purchasing unnecessary items. Additionally, they
can easily move to another market to buy another items. Therefore, online
shopping encourages not caring about consumers' spending.
All things considered, online shopping has
brought multiple advantages, for example, consumers become convenient. However,
it makes customers run out of patience from getting used to fast shipping and
promote unexpected spending. |
