▶ Your Answer :At first
glance, it may seem television has greater influence on human society than
the Internet. However, in my opinion, the Internet has the most immense impact
on people’s lives for two following indubitable reasons. To begin with, the Internet has higher accessibility
than television. To be specific, people can use the Internet with no limitation
of time and place. Thus, people spend more time on surfing the web, reading online
news, and so on. According to recent statistics on Korean’s lifestyle conducted
by government, it showed the intriguing result about their living pattern. The
statistics reported that 78 percent of Koreans use the Internet over 3 hours a
day in average. In contrast, only 24 percent of Koreans responded that they
watch television over 3 hours a day. This evidence proved that people spend
more time on using the Internet.
On top of that, since the SNS(Social Networking Service) has dispersed more widely among people , information can be spread more
easily by the Internet than by television. In other words, through the SNS,
such as Facebook and Instagram, people can share their thought and emotion more
readily just with several clicks. Therefore, the Internet has the greatest
power on the present society. This tendency has encouraged a lot of company to advertise
by the SNS. For example, one cosmetic company in Korea had been advertising by
television before they realize the power of the SNS. When they recognized that the
demand of their products did not increase enough than they expected, they
decided to advertise their cosmetics by Facebook. Surprisingly, the sales were
considerably increased than before. This result revealed that information is
delivered more quickly and widely by the Internet than by television.
In conclusion, I am firmly convinced that the
Internet has more significant effect on human society than television does
for the two crucial reasons mentioned above. |
