▶ Your Answer :
Undoubtedly, computer games play a significant
role in people's daily lives in the many of the places where they work or play.
Some people think that children should not be allowed to play them because
playing computer games is a waste of time, while others do not. Both sides may
have their own reasons to support their views. If I had to choose one, I would
say that it is not bad for children to play computer games. There are several
reasons as follows.
To begin with, students can relieve
their stress. Children are so busy with their work in school, so they get
stressed easily. When they play computer games, they do not have to think about
complicated things such as worrying about exams. For example, my sister often
felt depressed thinking that her life became an exhausting routine. To survive
in a competitive world, she spent the whole day studying all academic subjects,
hoping that she could outdo others. Fortunately, she was able to deal with such
pressure and stress in a safe way by playing computer games for two hours a
week. Through playing computer games, she could relieve stress and feel
comfortable. Without this experience, she would still have depressed all day.
On top of that, children can build
and maintain a good relationship with others. Nowadays, there are various
computer games based on the Internet. By playing Internet games with other
people, children can make new friends. For instance, my youngest brother had no
friends in high school. He felt lonely, so he started playing computer games
through the Internet. He was able to make new friends in the game. Later, he
often met his friends in reality and talked a lot each other about games and
their own lives. By doing this, he has developed a good relationship with them.
Thanks to his friends who met in the Internet games, he could overcome the
loneliness.
All things considered, I strongly
believe that the advantages of playing games far outweigh those of prohibiting
playing games for the reasons I have mentioned above. All in all, the
importance of computer games cannot be overestimated in children's life. |
