Some people might think that just exercising for campaign is more effective way to protect environment than acting alone. However, in my opinion, acting alone can makes more dramatic effect to solve facing environment problems for the following two subsequent reasons.
First of all, most of people in modern society do not have time to come together and make a campaign and programs for protecting environment and resolving the problems. To explain, there might be many people who wants to participate in these programs but do not have time because of work or other things. So they can do only individual works to solve the facing problem about environment. And this may lead to great effect to environment. For example, I saw a program that explains how to save our earth in personal. In that program, just doing trivial actions such as using mug instead of using plastic cup can make no more unnecessary trashes and if many people do this action, it could change the earth more healthy. So doing individual actions by everyone may have a great power to resolve facing problem.
Second, there is very famous saying "butterfly effects". Butterfly effect is the effect that if trivial things come gathered, it could make dramatic effects. To specific, it means that tiny personal actions become to great effect. For example, when I was in high school, our school made a policy that forces student to clean up the school. However, many students were so busy after school that they could not come together. So, our class peers started to clean up individual's space. And our class began to clear and other classes followed us and entire school began clear. Likewise, individual acting alone could deal with the issues about environment that we are facing.
To sum up, many people are so busy that have no time to participate in certain big campaign and butterfly effect is really meaningful and effective. In this regard, I disagree that the issues facing the environment are so complicated that individuals acting alone have no power to affect them. |
