▶ Topic : Some
people like to do only what they already do well. Other people prefer to try
new things and take risks. Which do you prefer?

▶ Your Answer :
It is
debatable whether sticking to one thing is more beneficial than trying new
things and taking risks. A sizable number of people prefer to try new things and take
risks but I prefer to do only what I am good at. Not only is it less stressful
but will also make you an expert for the field.
For example, if people do what they are already
good at, they can be an expert for a specific field which will lead to bigger
success. To become an expert in a field, it requires a lot of effort and time.
If a person spends (주어 동사 불일치) time doing something else than their major, it will be a
waste of time for them because it would not be helpful and be an interruption
for becoming an expert. For example, my uncle who had studied for a math degree
once wanted to study Chinese. He believed that doing both will make him more
successful. However, when he started Chinese it took a lot of time and
disturbed his time for studying math. His plan was to spend about three (아라비아 숫자를 지양해주세요.) (뭐에 대한 time spending을 말하는 건가요?) years but
it took him almost five years because he wasted his time for studying Chinese. My
uncle eventually quitted Chinese while he was learning because if he wanted to be an expertise in both math and Chinese he would have spent more time than his plan.
Therefore, I believe that if someone wants to succeed (품사) in a short time and be an
expert, they should just do what they already do well than waste time doing other
things.
Second, doing what they are good will be less
stressful. Adapting to something new is a challenge for many people and it will be
stressful. In contrast, doing what they are good at is not a challenge so people will
be less stressful and have fun at the same time because they are used to it.
According to a survey I saw in an article, many people replied that doing what
they are used to is less stressful for them. To be specific, eight people responded
that being in an unfamiliar environment and doing something new is stressful
because it will take time to be familiar with it. Also, many people are afraid
of taking risks. The thought of failing is stressful for many people so it is
not helpful for them at all. In addition, in the survey, half of them replied
that it is fun to do what they are good at because they know what they are
doing. So, it is less stressful for them when doing their work.
In conclusion, given the choice of doing what
I am already good at or trying something new, I will choose to do what I am
already good at. It would make me an expert and hopefully become successful on
the field, and I will be less stressful because I do not have to think about
failing and taking the risk. Therefore, I prefer the former selection. |
