▶ Your Answer :
Some people
think that people at present are equally or even more friendly than people in
the past. However, in my opinion, people in the past were much friendly than
people in these days. There are two reasons.
To begin with,
compared to the past, the world these days become more competitive. As people
have gone through the world with endless competition, people become less
friendly to others. Besides, nowadays, people sometimes take advantage of
others who are friendly and kind to other people for the sake of exceeding them. Therefore, it is difficult to be
friendly to others in these days compared to the past. The survey was conducted
by social science department of Seoul National University to identify how
people these days felt about others compared to the past. The researchers
randomly selected 200 people who were older than 20 years and asked to take the
survey. An overwhelming 80% of respondents said that the people at present were
less friendly than the people in the past. The main reason they contended is
that the anxiety of the competition in world these days deteriorated people's
kindness and mind to be friendly to others.
On top of that,
people in the past stressed the importance of being friendly to others more
than people at present. Unlike people in the past, people these days think the
tangible things are more important than intangible things. For example, people
these days emphasize the importance of money while regard the intangible things
such as being friendly to others as nothing important. To save or earn money,
people often reject to being friendly to others and even do not hesitate to
offend others' feelings. Since people in these days prefer tangible things to
being friendly compared to the past, it cannot be denied that people in the
past were much friendly than they are today.
To sum up,
taking endless competition in world these days and distinct priorities of
people in the past and at the present into account, people in the past were
much friendly than they are today. |
