▶ Your Answer :
Do you want to get mundane and mediocre memories with big costs or get special memories with small costs? As far as I am concerned, the answer is definitely the latter. Some people might argue that it is better to go on a group journey with a guide, but I firmly believe that the trip by oneself is more attractive choice. The fundamental reasons behind my opinion are that it would enable travelers to save their money and would give an unforgettable experience such as a conversation with foreigners.
To begin with, a travel by oneself would be a better choice to save up money. It is obvious that trip, especially visiting abroad, costs a lot, so most people put their efforts to reduce redundant costs. If they decide to take a group tour with a guide, they have to give commission to the guide as a fee for explanation. Moreover, they would take their own rented bus, so they also have to pay it. In contrast, people who prepare their trip by themselves can take cheap public transportation such as buses or subways, and, of course, instead of listening to the guide's descriptions, they can use their own smartphones to search for information, which is free of charge. For instance, my parents went on a trip to Vietnam last year by themselves. I made a plan for them, and, hence, they could spend their six days only with $1,000, enjoying a bunch of activities.
On top of that, going on a journey by oneself can enable people to have unexpected and special memories. Although we can also get some distinctive emotion and memories just by appreciating cultural relics at there, a group tour usually discourages people from having a conversation with local foreigners due to the existence of a guide. Since the guides are willing to help us including diminutive stuffs, so there is not enough opportunities to unravel a popped up situation by own. In contrast, if someone go on a trip by himself, he has to solve the problematic situations only by own and it would trigger some interaction with foreigners. When I visited New York solely, I had to go to Brooklyn but I got to Harlem due to inaccuracy of the map in my phone. Thus, I asked to anyone in Columbia University about the correct direction, and then, by getting some pieces of advice, I could arrived in Brooklyn successfully. If I had chosen a group tour, I couldn't have had this special and precious experience.
To sum up, a trip by oneself is a better option because it would cost less and give an opportunity to have a special moment. In this regard, without any hesitation, I strongly agree with the statement.
