▶ Your Answer :
It is debatable whether children should play sports for fun rather than for competition. This is an intriguing question because options concerning this issue can be different relying on individual perspectives. Some people might think that children should play sports competitively rather than play for fun because their goal is only to win. However, I am in line with those who believe that children should enjoy sports. Apparently, the reasons are diversified, and I would like to scrutinize some of its essentialities that are mentioned here.
First of all, sports are for our physical health and mental health. If children compete with others during sports, they might not be healthy. While doing sports, we can learn how to interact with other people, and get to know the rules and our roles. For example, When I was in elementary school, I played soccer with my friend at first time in my life. I did not know how to kick the ball, even how to play. However, I got to know the rules, and I could enjoy the game gradually. Therefore, when we lost, I was a little bit sad, but not angry about that, or furious about it because winning is not an important role. I could get to know about interacting with friends as well as I laughed and truly enjoyed a lot. Through this experience, I realized sports can help people stay healthy mentally or physically.
Second, children will be stressed out if sports would be competitive. These days, young people already get a lot of pressure from academic subjects. Sports can help them to forget about their worries and escape from the harsh reality. For instance, when I was extremely exhausted and stressed due to excessive workload, I did ping-pong with my co-worker for fun in the workplace. During playing, I had a brief moment of relief from my stressful work. Through my experience, I sincerely felt that sports can relieve my stress. I did not want to be stressed out even doing sports.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that sports should be played for fun rather than for competition especially in children. All things considered, it is my belief that
my argument regarding this topic has been efficiently and precisely delivered
with the reasons mentioned above. Never should we forget that this issue may
have a huge impact on our future.
