Answer :
Some people think that we should keep away from others to improve our relationships because being away from people reminds us of how important they are. Others think that we should always with others to have good relationships because we can communicate with them more often. What do you think?
Some people think that we should have more time to make relationships in greater depth, while other people say that it is better to be away from people to find how precious they are. I think both sides have proper reasons, however, I strongly believe that people need to share more time and experiences to make good relationships with each other. This is because sharing experiences and time give more chances to develop a bond with others.
To begin with, we can enhance the relationships in society by doing the same things since the common experiences with others can make a deeper emotional connection. Good relationships depend on how many interesting we share. We all heard of the saying “Out of sight, out of mind”, which means that if we want to have a true relationship, we have to make a chance to meet them. For example, I had very close friends in college. We participated in the same extracurricular activities as a soccer team and always studied together. After graduating the college, however, I had to leave for a jog and my friends moved away, too. For a while, we kept in touch with each other, but we came to be estranged. From this experience, I found the frequency is an important factor to maintain good relationships.
On top of that, the more time we spend with others, the more things we find about them. To be specific, if we do something with friends as a team, we can recognize the characteristics of them, which we did not know before. We have to overcome the pros and cons of others to make deeper relationships, and it would take a long time. However, if we go through this stage safely, we can reach a developed level of relationship. For instance, I was accepted in an internship program for international aid by the UN. There were fifteen members from various countries. At first, we didn’t know each other, so there were some conflicts due to the cultural difference and individual personality. Since all the members had their own merits and demerits, it took about a month to understand each other. However, we found that we shared the same goals and values for the third-countries’ poor, and spend a year on the program as a team. In this period, we were able to cultivate more profound relationships, after that, we have built true intimacy because we shared common goals and worked for organizations dealing with our common interests. The bottom line, I recognized from this episode, is that staying much more time with people is essential to nurture deeper connections.
