▶ Your Answer :Some people think that new one is the best
one and they try to destroy old things and replace them to new things. However,
I think preserving the old and historic building is more valuable and good for
people’s satisfaction
than replacing them to new building. To begin with, old and historic buildings are
the living history of architect. So they are valuable ifself and helpful for
us. If they’ve kept their
place, we could feel stability from them and it will spread all over the city. For
example, in my case which were experienced in korea, korea destroyed most of
old buildings and built new one. So if I saw very special building, I worry
about whether it will be destroyed or not later. On the other hand, I can feel
stability and calm when I am in old building such as Han-ok , Korean style old
house, and buddism temple.
On top of that, people can remind their
memory through the old and historical building. If the building which I visited
it before 10 years ago is kept the place itself, i could remember and remind
the memory through them easily. The study from the Center of Disease Control
have shown that the people who live in the city which preserve old and historic
building are more healthy than the people who live in the city which is filled
with new building.
To sum up, preserving the old things is
more valuable than destroying and it is also helpful for people’s well-being.
For these reasons, I prefer preserving old
and historic building to destroying and replacing them to new one. |
