▶ Your Answer : In this rapidly changing world, it is
widely accepted that being fast is a virtue, which can help people adapt to the
environment and utilize the chances. However, I prefer to take some time and
work on a task mindfully. By doing so, the base of a project can be enforced,
and less time will be wasted on careless mistakes. To begin with, by working slowly and
carefully, people can ensure the quality of basics of a task. The most
fundamental elements such as the main direction of an activity or the basic
skills necessary for a great performance can only be attained by thorough
preparation and careful monitoring that takes time. For example, when my friend
Jane was 5 years old, she was told by her piano teacher that she is not
talented in music and was suggested to develop other hobbies. However, she did
not give up on her dream, and kept practicing deliberately and honed the basic
skills at her own pace, even though she cannot be as good as her peers at the
beginning. Ten years later, she became a reputable pianist who is often invited
to important ceremonies. She out-performed most of her peers through patiently
and deliberately repeating the fundamentals.
On top of that, moving too fast can entice
mindless mistakes. To specify, blindly accelerating without enough caution and
reflection bound to result in numerous mistakes that are otherwise avoidable.
For example, in 1900s Ford automobile was famous for its manufacturing speed
and affordable price. Meanwhile, there was a fatal error in one of its models
that can lead to severe damage. Therefore, Ford had to recall all of the cars
sold and made remuneration to customers, and deal with immense social criticism
and dispute. The error can totally be avoided had the company put more efforts
on quality control rather than daily outputs.
To conclude, quality works take time and
concentration, which fortify the basics and avoid mistakes. In this regard, I
am against quick and reckless solutions. |
