▶ Your Answer : It is debatable whether the best way to help a child become better
at a skill such as playing a musical instrument is to require the child to
practice every day for a set number of minutes. This is an intriguing question
because depending on people’s perspectives, there will be a variety of answers.
In my opinion, however, I agree with that it is best for the parent to
encourage the child to practice only as much as the child wishes, with no
requirement about the amount of time spent practicing for the following
reasons.
First of all, motivation plays a vital role in the education of
children. To be specific, by receiving encouragement, the children can
willingly try to practice. Usually, the children are too young to decide what they
have to do for the future. In this situation, the role of the parents is
cheering up children.
For example, when I was in elementary school, my teacher encouraged
me to study mathematics. At that time, mathematics was really hard for me. But through
my teacher’s sincere and cheerful saying, I could overcome studying mathematics
and could get high scores. After a while, I realized that to encourage children
have a positive impact on the development of the children.
Second, it is too stressful to require the child to practice daily
for a set number of hours. To be specific, to compel practicing without the
children’s opinion can be a considerable pressure to the children and as a result,
they would lose their interests and get mental diseases.
For example, when I was in elementary school, I took a piano lesson
because of my mother. Actually, I have some interests in playing piano, but the
academy required me to playing piano every day. As time goes, my interest about
playing piano decreased. Consequently, I cannot enjoy playing piano. After a
while, I realized that imposing on practicing every day to children has a
negative impact on mental health.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that it is the best way for the
parent to motivate their child to practice only as much as they want. I think
my arguments have been effectively delivered with the reasons mentioned above.
Never should we forget that this issue can be a huge impact on our future. |
