▶ | Some people might say that the knowledge from their own experience is more dependable than written words in books and I agree with them. Of course, a book is made by a lot of experts, so the information from the book is much more reliable than that of the internet. However, when it comes to knowledge which we can only grab through direct experiences, those from written words make no use. First of all, most people have a tendency to internalize the knowledge when they directly get them through their own experience, not when indirectly read those in some books. Especially, children do not believe something until they feel it directly. My experience is a good example of this. When I was in elementary school, my mom and dad always told me that studying hard right now will come back in a big way in the future. As one of the efforts to make me study, they gave to me the book which lists the reasons why children have to study such as getting a high social status and improving self-esteem. However, I did not know the true meaning until I entered high school. I used to spend all night for exam preparation, and at that time, I finally came to know the reasons. Secondly, the knowledge written in a book is normal, which means that it has been structured to be applied to almost every person, without considering the personal difference. To be specific, in the realm of health management, information on the books could cause a serious problem. When you go to a book store, you can see many people who are enchanted by a variety of books telling the efficient way to lose weight. I was one of them. I bought a book saying that the best way to lose weight is not to eat anything for three days to minimize your guts. I followed it, but I was so hungry that after three days, I devoured every food I could see. This method might have been efficient for the writer of this book, but not for me. In conclusion, the knowledge we gain from personal experiences is more meaningful than the knowledge we gain from books, considering the effect of direct experience and the varied features of each person. For these reasons, I absolutely agree with the statement.
