The given line graph illustrates the average daily spending of three different types(business, vacation and visiting friends or relatives) by international traveler to New Zealand between 1997 and 2017. In general terms, it can be clearly seen that spending by people who go on a business trip was higher than people visiting friends or relatives. In addition, spending of two categories (business and holiday) fluctuated. Looking at the graph in more detail, in 1997, business travelers spent in New Zealand about $258, while people visiting friends or relatives spent around $120 and people having holiday spent around $190. Spending of three categories rose gradually and peaked at around $340, $270 and $220 over the next 5 years. However, expenditure by people going on a business trip dropped dramatically between 2003 and 2005. From 2005 and 2015, the daily spending by business travelers fluctuated between about $240 and $150, whereas expenditure by people visiting relations declined steadily. In 2017, vacationers' spending was higher than business travelers' and people who friends or relatives still spent the least about $140. (177 words) |
