It is better to learn the way people
lived in the past through films and video records than written documents. To
what extent do you agree or disagree?
There is a disagreement regarding the issue
of whether or not people can learn history more efficiently using video records
like movies or dramas. Some people assert that it is quite useful for people to
understand history while others insist that reading books is still a more
important way to learn history than watching videos. Personally, I am in favor
of recording video to better understand people who lived in the past.
To begin with, video records are more
efficient ways to learn the history of people because it offers individuals
visual effects that enable them to understand easily. For example, when people
watch videos related to history, they can better understand costumes, houses,
and foods of people who lived in the past. In addition, learners will even know
the way of conversation among people who lived in former ages by listening to
their voices, intonations, and tones. These are not able to be known in books
readily since written documents contain only information with words and
sentences.
On top of that, watching films and video
records concerning people lived in the past helps visual learners and old
people access history readily. Nowadays, it is well known that visual learners
tend to obtain information and knowledge through videos instead of books. Also,
old people cannot read books easily since their eyesight gradually weakens.
Therefore, learning history by using video records is a more comfortable and
appropriate way for these people.
In conclusion, I agree that people can
learn history more efficiently using video records like movies or dramas
because they give individuals visual and auditory effects that make them
understand easily. Moreover, nowadays most people prefer video records to
written documents, so they enjoy learning history by watching films and dramas.
